Here are the F1 races that will be live and free-to-air in 2016

If you live in the UK or Australia (and a growing majority of the rest of the world) your access to live and free-to-air Formula One races can be pretty limited. Here's the races that Channel Four in the UK have confirmed will be shown live and which will be covered in short highlights packages:

  • 20 Mar Australia - Highlights
  • 03 Apr Bahrain - Live
  • 17 Apr China - Highlights
  • 01 May Russia - Highlights
  • 15 May Spain - Live
  • 29 May Monaco - Highlights
  • 12 Jun Canada - Highlights
  • 19 Jun Azerbaijan - Live
  • 03 Jul Austria - Highlights
  • 10 Jul Britain - Live
  • 24 Jul Hungary - Live
  • 31 Jul Germany - Highlights
  • 28 Aug Belgium - Live
  • 04 Sep Italy - Live
  • 18 Sep Singapore - Highlights
  • 02 Oct Malaysia - Live
  • 09 Oct Japan - Highlights
  • 23 Oct USA - Highlights
  • 30 Oct Mexico - Live
  • 13 Nov Brazil - Highlights
  • 27 Nov Abu Dhabi - Live

While there's been no formal announcements, it's highly likely that Australia's free-to-air coverage will mirror the above list - with the exception of the Australian GP which will no doubt continue to be a launching pad for the latest reality shows and such.

It's another disappointing spread as far as live races go, is it enough to make you upgrade to cable this season?
